Ebrahim Sharif

Ebrahim Sharif Al Sayeed is a sunni liberal secular opposition activist. He is General Secretary of the National Democratic Action Society, and he was formerly associated with the underground leftist Popular Front for the Liberation of Bahrain for which he spent many years in exile.

He was arrested in his home in Manama for his role in the ongoing Bahraini protests, which called for greater political freedom and for the rights of the Shia majority. There are allegations that he has been tortured.
